Company History

Skødstrup Trædrejeri was founded in 1948 in Aarhus by Henning Svenningsen, the father of the Svenningsen brothers.

After some years in small premises in Aarhus the expanding company in 1960 moved to Skødstrup, hence the name Skødstrup Trædrejeri.

Today, the company is run by the brothers Leif and Ole Svenningsen. In 1992 the company moved to the beautiful area on Djursland, close to the town of Rønde. After several extensions the company now has a rational production capacity of more than 2500 m2.

The company is strategically situated in relation to Aarhus International Airport, Tirstrup, which is only a few minutes´ drive away, and Grenå Ferry Port, which is an important link for the transportation of raw materials from Sweden and Finland.

The thrill by forming a wooden block into a beautiful and vivid article is just as evident today as it used to be. Back in the old days the hand-turner shaped a few articles a day, whereas nowadays modern technology has taken over, allowing for a daily production of more than 12000 articles.

One of the forces of the company has always been the creative flair for constant innovation and design of new products.

Organization
The company has 27 dynamic and well-motivated production workers who in day and night shifts manufacture an annual quantity of more than 3000 m3 wood.

If necessary, Skødstrup Trædrejeri is capable of working three shifts to be able to deliver on time.

To ensure an efficient production at all times with constant quality control most workers are trained woodcutting machinists.

Skødstrup Trædrejeri operates with an education policy, stipulating that four apprentices are constantly in training.

Exports
Skødstrup Trædrejeri is a highly exportminded company with many years´ export experience.

The primary exportation area is Europe. There are, however, also customers from the United States and other overseas countries.

A sound network of experienced and reliable transporters/forwarding agents guarantees that delivery comes on time.

Despite considerable exports we still focus mainly on the home market where we are suppliers to a large part of the Danish furniture industry.

Skødstrup Trædrejeri produces high-quality turned components to suit any production. Through dialogues with our customers we seek the optimal solution, providing a common, strong base for coping with increased competition.

Our flexible, hightechnology machine park, in combination with our highly motivated and welltrained employees, puts us in a strong position to meet our customers´ wishes.

Through a considerable capacity and logistics we are able to offer very short delivery time for even large orders.

Modern and timeless design of wooden lighting articles has always been one of the forces of Skødstrup Trædrejeri.
