Practically
every second day raw materials in a quantity of almost a
semi-trailer are brought into the production hall. The wood
originates primarily from Swedish and Norwegian saw mills.
A longterm cooperation ensures uniform quality. Buffer stocks
of more than 200 m3 at the saw mills in question are available
at any time upon request. Though Skødstrup Trædrejeri has
7 different types of cutting machines it is not possible
for us to overcome the cutting ourselves. Some of the materials
are therefore purchased as products ready for processing.

The
first operation is to cut the packeted wood in our optimation
machine. By means of chalk markings all defects are cut
off, securing the requested quality and optimal utilization
of the raw material. Skødstrup Trædrejeri was the first
turning company with an optimation machine which makes us
somewhat of a pioneer in that field.
After the cutting station 7 depositors handle the correct
lengths which are now ready for either the moulding machine
or for processing in the turner´s workshop.

The
moulding machine contributes to the fact that Dansk Træaffald
(Danish Wooddeposits) collects approx. 16 tons of shavings
every week. One of the latest iniaitives by Skødstrup Trædrejeri
in the employment environmental field is the elimination
of monotonous, repetitive routines. With the introduction
of stacks it is now possible for only one person to mould.

Skødstrup
Trædrejeri has the largest capacity in Denmark of sliding.
With a capacity of 13 automatic lathes we are able to cope
with any job. The TZ-lathes are combination machines with
lathe and smooting planer combined with a robot to move
the products. Our Rotour lathes with 6 spindles are primarily
suited for smaller subjects such as legs for chest of drawers
and upholstery, handles and others.

More
than 475 pieces of profile turning chisels stand ready for
"action" in our grindery. Such an intensive program means
that practically no job is too complicated.

Square
smoothing on legs is carried out on top/bottom smoothing
planer.

To
keep a constant humidity both to secure the internal employment
environment and to keep the subjects stable during production
our airhumidity plant emits up to 300 liter water per hour.

In
the finishing section 6 workers are employed, all having
several years of experience in handling lacquer, colours,
lye, soap and oil treatment and others.

The
fully automatic Conveyer-plant, which is an electrostatic
disc-system, has an hourly spraying capacity of 3000 legs
for chests of drawers. The plant gives an optimal utilization
of the lacquer and minimizes emission which benefits both
the internal and the external environment.

Daily
dialogue, frequent security meetings and the involvement
by the Danish Employees´ Health Service secure an internal
employment environment, focussing on constant improvements.

by expert handling that the entire information flow and
book-keeping run smoothly.
